Leading spirits company Pernod Ricard commissioned us to create a new gin inspired by Galicia. Located in the north of Spain, it is one of the country’s most enchanting landscapes thanks to its abundant greenery and vibrant scenery. Our challenge was to establish the storytelling, a visual identity and packaging that would deliver the traditions and characteristics of this spirit's birthplace to the world.

Once the creative territory had been defined, Morillas intervened by establishing the spirit’s main ingredient: the authentic padrón pepper. A product innovation that turned this avant-garde, unique and authentic beverage into a new global gin that boldly claims its roots. Inspired by the history, origin and tradition of Galicia, "A Miña Orixe" bears a name composed of one of the most well-known and identifiable Galician words. We all have an origin, and "A Miña Orixe", invites everyone to connect with one: The Galician spirit.

With the aim of taking Galicia to the world, the bottle’s visual universe and design highlights this beloved land of pilgrimage. This concept inspired us to use elements and symbols from topographical maps, represented on the label as a guide for world travellers. These geographical features created by embossing, guide us to the centre of the label, where we find the brand's seal, which includes the coordinates of the convent of San Francisco in Herbón, where the padrón peppers grow. With the logo at its heart, copper colours reflect quality and reveal the earthy tones of Galicia. Also, we incorporated four icons in green print to evoke the origin and flavour of the gin, conveying its essence. A vibrant green, constant throughout the packaging design, embodies the main ingredient and birthplace, inviting everyone to experience fresh and authentic aromas.
