Objective
Funky Pizza, an Italian restaurant originally opened in 2018 in Calella de Palafrugell, needed to translate its musical universe into its brand identity and packaging. The objective was to reinforce the duality between traditional Neapolitan cuisine and a disco-funky spirit, expressing it visually across all touchpoints to convey the brand’s festive essence and stand out from conventional competitors.
Approach
The aim was to fuse two creative universes: funky music and its nostalgic imagery with Neapolitan cuisine. This idea was translated into every element of the identity through distinctive typefaces, striking patterns and graphic resources inspired by record label logos. A key element was the pizza box, conceived as an iconic experience that merges music and gastronomy, using its format to transform it into a vinyl record sleeve, and on the reverse side, the menu was designed as a tracklist, creating a direct connection with the brand’s musical universe.
Solution
A graphic system inspired by vinyl culture and record labels was designed, adapted to the world of pizza and Italian essence. The identity was applied to the boxes, conceived as vinyl record sleeves, replicating their aesthetic both in format and graphics. Retro typefaces, compositions and graphic elements evoke album covers, alongside logos that reinterpret the visual codes of record labels.
This project demonstrates how funky music and Italian cuisine can come together in perfect harmony, creating an experience that visually connects music and gastronomy.
Iconic pizza boxes inspired by vinyl records
Custom boxes were developed to replicate the aesthetic of a vinyl record, both in format and graphics. On the reverse side, the menu was designed as a tracklist, creating a direct connection with the brand’s musical universe. Proportions, printing and finishes were carefully considered to reinforce the “vinyl pack” effect, ensuring durability, functionality and a distinctive visual experience from the very first contact.

To build a strong and versatile brand, a visual universe inspired by record labels was developed, reinterpreted through Italian themes and cultural references. From logos that emulate record labels to bold merchandising, the system expands the meaning of the brand and reinforces its presence across all touchpoints.
